Hi all!

Most of you will remember my spaz back in July when I realised that I could make a PHP script that used the Yahoo weather feed to select which layout my livejournal had!

Well, I thought I'd share it with everyone!

Steps:

<li> Save the below code sample into a file called weather.php. </li>
<li> Create .css files for the following weathers: 
	"apocalypse.css"
	"thunder.css";
	"cold-sleety-snow.css";
	"lighter-rain.css";
	"snow.css";
	"hazy.css";
	"windy.css";
	"cloudy-day.css";
	"cloudy-night.css";
	"nice-day.css";
	"nice-night.css";</li>
<li> Upload all of them onto a web server that supports PHP, and must have 
'allow_url_fopen' set to 'on'.</li>
<li> C&P the url of the weather.php file (e.g. http://www.domain.com/weather/weather.php) into the lj section that asks for external CSS.</li></ol>

There are some more detailed instructions in the file, like a section that tells you where to find and paste the weather URL for your area from Yahoo.

ALSO: You can probably use this and set it to return a image file and use it as part of an existing CSS file to only change your headers. Anyone interested, come talk to me.

Beginners
----------
To use: have a directory with the following css files, and this php file in it:

"apocalypse.css"
	"thunder.css";
	"cold-sleety-snow.css";
	"lighter-rain.css";
	"snow.css";
	"hazy.css";
	"windy.css";
	"cloudy-day.css";
	"cloudy-night.css";
	"nice-day.css";
	"nice-night.css";
	
ALSO. The server you're running this on must support PHP, and must have 
'allow_url_fopen' set to 'on'. This might be trickier to find.

Then simply set the yahoo rss weather feed to the correct one for your 
area. (These are very easily found by going to weather.yahoo.com and just
entering your postcode). This is in the script below, you should be able to
spot it.

Then just use the url of this php script in the space where it asks you for
an external stylesheet. Anywhere it does, actually. The system will think 
you've linked to a static style sheet. (CSS)

Advanced
---------
It's not too advanced, but I split the below weathers based on my location,
Brighton, England. So, there's not many tropical storms here, if there were
it'd probably be the apocalypse, so that's what I set it to. For someone
who lives in a different region, they might like to change the codes. I've
included all of the yahoo weather codes and what they stand for. To change
which ones return what you simply need to change the numbers in the IF-statements.

If you don't know what an if statement is, I probably wouldn't do this.

Anyway, yes, this is made with no lisence what so ever, it's as is, with
no support. Just, enjoy guys.
